"Watercolor summer": painting intensive for children

16 July, 11:15 - 12:45

The Museum of Russian impressionism offers 4 watercolor painting classes for children (7 – 10 years). What is special about this paint? Which watercolor techniques exist? How to use them in practice? These questions will be answered during our lessons with Ksenia Galitskaya.

1. Bouquet

Let's get to know watercolor paint better! Children will learn how to mix paint and water correctly, search for new shades, explore different painting techniques. And in the end of the class they will out their new skills into practise and draw some flowers from life.

2. Fairytale owl

Our next step is to learn how to paint wet-on-wet and what's special about reproduction of colours when using this technique. A fairytale owl will help us with that.

3. Waves

During the class that will be dedicated to marine painting we'll continue working wet-on-wet. We'll get inspired by landscapes from the Museum's collection and paint waves and reflections of the light on the water surface.

4. Fantasy

In the end of our intensive children will revise previously learnt techniques and use them to create their own impressionistic masterpiece.

Groups up to 10 children. Duration: 1,5 hours.
